Live cohort
LiDAR processing for powerline corridors
A small group taken end to end through the actual powerline pipeline: from raw ALS or UAV LiDAR to a classified, vectorised, inspection-ready deliverable.
- Format
- Live, on Maven
- Duration
- Two weeks
- Dates
- 16-25 June 2026
- Seats
- 12 maximum
- Price
- €249
- Runs
- Occasionally
§ 01What you'll work on
Six exercises, one real corridor
Each exercise builds on the last. Bring your own data if you have it. A representative tile is provided if you don't.
- 1Tile and index a real powerline corridor dataset
- 2Ground extraction and DTM generation, evaluated against truth
- 3Powerline conductor extraction (RANSAC plus region growing)
- 4Vegetation encroachment detection with clearance buffers
- 5Pole and tower detection (geometric plus learned approaches)
- 6Final inspection-ready deliverable: vectors plus risk classifications
§ 02Who it's for
Engineers and analysts working with corridor LiDAR
At surveying companies, utilities, and consultants. You don't need deep ML background. You do need to be willing to read your own data critically and to push back on default parameter values.

The cohort runs through Maven and is sold there, separately from the book and the video course. Cohorts run occasionally, when the author's calendar allows.
